PFC (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals) refers to a large group of chemicals that are intermediates, excipients or de-gradation products of certain fluorocarbon compounds. These are environmentally harmful substances. PFCs are used because of their water-, dirt- and grease-repel-lent properties.
